A Pawsome Time Sponsoring the Pet Dog Show at Great Harwood

It might have been a blustery day on Monday 26th May, but that only made the tails wag faster at the Great Harwood Agricultural Show! We proudly returned for the second consecutive year, sponsoring the popular Pet Dog Classes category, and what an un-fur-gettable day we had.

This heartwarming event is a staple in the Lancashire calendar and has been running for over 150 years, drawing in thousands of visitors annually. With a range of attractions and activities, such as livestock competitions and craft stalls, it’s a brilliant showcase of rural life. The reason we are proud sponsors, though, is that the funds raised go directly to local charities; this year to Fylde Coast Cats and Kidneys for Life. As a company of animal lovers, we’re honoured to support the family-friendly Pet Dog Show, where the spotlight falls on everyday dogs and their devoted owners.

As part of our sponsorship, we encouraged team Building Spatial Intelligence to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in on the day, which is exactly what they did! Pamela Hazlett, our Sales Manager, took to the judge’s table, taking careful consideration over countless pups across 11 unique categories. A new addition this year was Best Trick, showcasing some seriously clever canines!

Some tough decisions were made, but Pamela handed out the donated prizes to impressive animals like a Scottish Wolf Hound who took home the Best Large Dog award, and the unforgettable Best 6 Legs winner — a coordinated duo sporting matching leg warmers.

  • Matching leg warmers!

It was a great excuse to trade our usual day jobs for dog treats and rosettes, and the team made the most of it! Between the muddy paws and community buzz, there was a real sense of purpose behind all the fun, and it felt good to be part of something meaningful. The money raised will make a real difference to local animal charities, and we’re very proud to have played even a small role in that.

Pamela summed up the spirit of the day perfectly:

Danielle Blair, organiser of the event and long-time friend, said:

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Building Spatial Intelligence for once again sponsoring the Pet Dog Show. Without the generous support from Jeremy and the dedicated volunteering from Pamela, the day simply wouldn’t be the same. They are such an important part of what has become one of my favourite days of the year.

Jeremy and Pamela’s enthusiasm, kindness, and generosity never cease to amaze me. For the past two years, Jeremy has kindly sponsored the show, enabling us to hire a marquee and provide beautiful rosettes and prizes for all our wonderful entries.

Their incredible support also helps me raise much-needed funds for local charities in need, making a real difference in our community.

Thank you both for being such a vital part of this event. I am truly grateful and look forward to making next year even more successful.

We’re delighted to confirm we’ll be back sponsoring again next year. Supporting this event is our way of saying thank you to our community — and to all the four-legged friends who make life a little brighter.
